Signal Integrity Testing
Does I-PEX offer any test boards to evaluate the Signal Integrity Performance of CABLINE® series connectors and harness assemblies?
Signal Integrity testing measures and analyzes the extent to which high speed signals maintain their integrity, when transmitted through a connector.
I-PEX offers Signal Integrity test boards designed for evaluating the high-speed transmission characteristics of connectors and harnesses. The SI test boards enable comprehensive signal integrity evaluation not only for the connector itself but also for the entire test board including high speed signal traces on the board.
By using an SI test board, key signal integrity parameters such as insertion loss, return loss, VSWR, and crosstalk can be measured with high accuracy. SI test boards include main break out board where the pins of CABLINE® series connector are fanned out to SMA/2.92mm RF connectors via traces of matched impedance on board and through pass calibration boards to measure and de-embed the losses in PCB traces. Thru calibration boards have SMA/2.92mm RF connectors on each side separated by matched PCB traces on board.
These test boards are widely used for performance verification and design evaluation of high-speed interfaces including PCIe®, USB, HDMI, and SerDes. Table 1 and 2 below show the SI test board line up for CABLINE® series connectors.
