SI Test Boards
I-PEX offers the break out test boards for NOVASTACK® 35-HDH, NOVASTACK® 35-HDP, and NOVASTACK® 35-HDN series connectors to measure the signal integrity performance of complete interconnect assemblies including the FPC itself or just for the plug and receptacle only. There are two types of test boards. i.e. the plug break out board and receptacle break out board. Each board has either plug or receptacle mounted on one side of the board and 2.92 mm RF connectors mounted on the other side of the board. There are eight RF connectors on each board i.e. one connector per break out stripline trace from connector pin to the RF connector. These are 50 Ohms controlled impedance boards and can be used to test for frequencies from DC to 40 GHz.
The plug and receptacle test boards can be mated for testing a complete interconnect channel from 2.92 mm connector on Plug side to 2.92 mm connector on Receptacle side including the on board stripline high speed traces. These test boards can be used to measure the S parametric losses including the Insertion Loss, Return Loss and VSWR for both receptacle and plug connectors.
Also, customers can also measure the S parametric data for their assembly harnesses only by using the break out test boards and de-embeding the losses in 2.92 mm RF connectors and traces by using the 2X Thru Calibration boards. Additionally, the Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) measurements can be made to measure the impedance profile of connectors as well as the traces on the boards. 2x Thru boards with straight stripline type traces between the 2.92 mm RF connectors are also offered to calibrate the losses from PCB traces out and measure the connector losses only. 2x Thru boards with straight stripline type traces between the 2.92 mm RF connectors are also offered to calibrate the losses from PCB traces and 2.92 mm RF Connectors and measure the connector losses only.
